As part of the Irish National programme for the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, a series of five regional seminars were organised by the Community Workers’ Co-operative, the European Anti-Poverty Network and the Community Platform in conjunction with the Social Inclusion Division of the Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs, the Implementation body for the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. The objective of the seminars was to provide an opportunity for a range of stakeholders, including policy makers, community organisations and, in particular, those experiencing poverty, inequalities and social exclusion, to discuss the issues pertaining to poverty and social exclusion. A number of key messages emanated from the discussions that were facilitated through the 2010 Regional Seminars held in Galway, Dundalk, Wexford, Cork and Donegal.en
