dc.descriptionIt gives me great pleasure to see the publication of Getting Inside Men's Health . This report provides us with valuable and wide-ranging insights into many of the key issues pertaining to men's health. The report is very timely, in that it will have an important function in terms of informing the development of a National Pol icy on Men's Health. Whilst there has been an increased awareness of the statistics surrounding men's health in recent years, this report addresses in a very meaningful way, the issues that underpin these statistics. The report is highly comprehensive, both in terms of the range and depth of questions that it addresses, and in the use of both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. As the report shows, the culture in which a man finds himself has a crucial bearing on his health status. Getting Inside Men's Health will appeal to a wide audience - policy makers, service providers, health and allied health professionals, and to those who work with men in the community and voluntary sectors.
