This booklet has been made with Roma women for Roma women. We hope the information will help you during and after your pregnancy. There are phone numbers listed at the end of this booklet if you need more information. Every women who is pregnant can get free care during pregnancy. You just have to be living in Ireland. This is called the Maternity and Infant Care Scheme. You will have appointments with your GP (family doctor) and at your maternity hospital. This is the place where you have your baby. You can ask to have an interpreter at your hospital appointments. An interpreter is someone who speaks your language and English. They can help you to communicate with medical staff.
